If you have been given the role of Laser/IPL Protection  Supervisor and don’t know what is expected of you then this is your essential course. We will explain the duties, responsibilities and requirements of Laser /IPL Protection Supervisors in an information packed day including safety quizzes and practical risk assessment in the clinical environment.

With reference notes and teaching materials drawn from the MHRA Guidance Document on laser and IPL safety, you can be sure of the most up-to-date and relevant training. With practical guidance, useful checklists and worksheets you will spend a full day gaining the skills needed to be an effective LPS.

Through lectures and worksheets you will learn about:

• The roles and responsibilities of the Laser/IPL Protection Adviser and Supervisor
• Laser/IPL equipment features, safety control measures and protective eyewear
• Local Rules — what they mean and how to enforce them
• Keeping the Authorised User registers
• Risk Assessment of laser/IPL equipment in the clinical environment

You should already have a ‘Core of Knowledge’ and be working in a laser/IPL environment to attend this course. You are welcome to bring your Local Rules, policies and safety checklists for discussion and inclusion in the teaching day.
